Project: Line Creek Snow Shed Loading Assessment and Evaluation of Mitigation Options

Dynamic completed an assessment of the avalanche and snow loads on the existing Line Creek snow shed as part of a structural engineering analysis. The snow shed is located in the Rocky Mountains north of Sparwood, BC, and was constructed in the early 1980s. An avalanche hazard assessment was also completed for the mining haul road and conveyor system, and mitigation options were evaluated to improve the effectiveness of the existing snow shed and reduce the need for helicopter avalanche control for maintaining safe road access.
