Project Description

Project: BC Forest Health Surveys – Safety Plan, Risk Assessments and Operational Safety Program

Client: BC Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations

For this project Dynamic was asked to provide avalanche safety services to facilitate forest health field work in the Mark Creek drainage of the southern Purcell Mountains west of Kimberley, BC. The primary concern was the access road to the work sites that traverses a pass with over 2 km of continuous exposure to avalanche hazards. Dynamic conducted an avalanche risk assessment, developed an avalanche safety plan, and implemented an operational avalanche safety program that included delivering training sessions to field staff, active monitoring of avalanche hazard and implementing mitigation measures.
