Project: Toba Montrose Hydroelectric Project – Avalanche Safety Program and Summer Weather & Creek Flow Forecasting

The Toba Montrose Hydroelectric Project is located in a high precipitation maritime climate near the Toba Inlet, approximately 100 km north of Powell River, BC. During the winter, Dynamic operates an avalanche safety program providing safety to facility operators. We provide daily avalanche hazard forecasts, avalanche rescue training to work crews and avalanche control using explosives. This avalanche safety program has been scaled up several times to allow maintenance or construction crews to safely work in high risk areas. During the summer, Dynamic provides a daily mountain weather and creek flow forecast to assist daily power generation operations.
