Dave is a professional engineer and geoscientist who specializes in keeping infrastructure safe from natural hazards. With over 20 years' experience, a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (focused on snow avalanches) and a postdoc from Queen’s University, he’s a go-to expert for managing landslide, rockfall, and avalanche risks across North America's mining, energy, and transportation sectors. When he's not in the field, Dave is an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s, teaching graduate geohazard risk and guiding student research. He’s widely published, licensed in four provinces (BC, AB, ON, and NL), and a past chair of the Canadian Geotechnical Society Geohazards Committee.
