About the Role:

‍

We are seeking an in-house bookkeeper who wants to build their career and grow with Dynamic. As our sole bookkeeper, you will independently manage full-cycle bookkeeping, report to the Business Manager, and work with management and our external accountant.

‍

This permanent, year-round position initially averages approximately 20 hours per week. The first week of each month may require up to full-time hours to complete project-based invoices. Hours during the remainder of the month are lower and more flexible, provided semi-monthly payroll is processed on time and other bookkeeping deadlines are met.

‍

We are looking for someone with a growth mindset: curious, proactive, and motivated to learn, improve processes, and take on greater responsibility. Once bookkeeping is running smoothly, the role has potential to expand into broader administration and business support responsibilities, based on your strengths and interests, with potential for full-time work. Bookkeeping will remain the core responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Manage full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable and receivable.

·      Complete monthly project invoicing using client-specific rates and billing requirements.

·      Ensure accurate, on-time semi-monthly payroll through Wagepoint, including benefits, allowances, and remittances.

·      Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards; maintain accurate financial records.

·      Prepare financial reports and required GST/PST remittances.

·      Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with the external accountant; tax return preparation is handled externally.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

‍

·      Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience and the ability to independently manage full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll.

·      Accounting or bookkeeping education, or equivalent training and experience.

·      Sound knowledge of accounting principles, payroll, and tax remittances.

·      Proficiency with QuickBooks Online or comparable software and strong Excel skills.

·      Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and discretion with confidential information.

·      Ability to organize work independently, meet recurring deadlines, and accommodate the monthly workload described above.

·      A growth mindset and a clear interest in developing your career through learning, process improvement, and broader responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

·      Experience with Wagepoint and Dext.

·      Project-based bookkeeping, invoicing, and cost tracking.

·      Experience improving bookkeeping processes, spreadsheets, or office systems.

·      Experience supporting administrative functions and project coordination.

About the Role:

‍

We are seeking a Lead Avalanche Technician to support our avalanche safety operations across the East Kootenay region. This role is classified as a seasonal, full-time position from November 1st, 2026 to May 31, 2027. Start and end dates may vary based on project requirements. Hours will gradually increase through the early season to full-time levels for the main winter period, then taper in the spring, with reduced hours expected by April and very limited hours possible by early May

‍

The successful candidate must reside or re-locate to the East Kootenay region (e.g., Elk Valley, Cranbrook, Kimberley, Crowsnest Pass). They will report to the Regional Operations Manage and work from home and in the field both individually and with a small team of other avalanche technicians.

‍

The work is varied, challenging, and rewarding. This is an ideal role for someone who is highly motivated, accustomed or willing to work on industrial projects and enjoys field and office based work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare daily avalanche hazard forecasts.
• Collect field data primarily by road, but also by snowmobile, helicopter, and ski/splitboard travel.
• Lead and deliver avalanche safety training courses tailored to project needs.
• Conduct avalanche risk assessments, avalanche mapping, and write clear, technically sound reports.
• Plan and conduct explosive avalanche control missions.
• Prepare InfoEx submissions and other project documentation.
• Drive in winter conditions on highways and resource roads to sites throughout the East Kootenays.
• Coordinate logistics and communications for ongoing projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in snow safety
• CAA Operations Level 2 and CAA Avalanche Professional designation.
• WorkSafe BC Blaster’s Certificate (helicopter endorsement required), with willingness to obtain BC Mine Surface Blaster - 3rd Class Certification.
• Intermediate first aid (formerly OFA Level 2) or higher, with transportation endorsement
• Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office and InfoEx.
• Excellent technical writing skills for clear and professional reporting.
• Experience with avalanche mapping and mapping software applications.
• Demonstrated experience communicating avalanche risk with stakeholders.
• Experienced and skilled in backcountry travel on skis or splitboard.
• Must reside in the East Kootenay or Crowsnest Pass regions.
• Willing to work a demanding work schedule that includes long field days, work on weekends/holidays and on-call hours.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience with remote avalanche forecasting.
• Leadership experience in a snow safety role.
• CAA Introduction to Snow Avalanche Mapping course completion.
• Snowmobile operator training.
• Experience in highway or industrial avalanche programs.
• Familiarity with industrial safety protocols and field operations.
• TDG certification.
• Advanced First Aid (formerly OFA L3) or Wilderness First Responder with OFA equivalency.
• Diploma or degree in a science or engineering related discipline.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Expected seasonal earnings range from $45,000 to $55,000 depending on qualifications, experience, and hours worked.
