Dan grew up skiing and climbing in the Pacific Northwest. His passion for all things snow and avalanche related has led to professional avalanche work across several sectors including education, public safety, ski areas and most recently industrial projects. Dan began ski patrolling at Copper Mountain, Colorado in 2005. He then moved to Washington State and served as a patroller, avalanche dog handler, and forecaster at Stevens Pass Mountain Resort for 15 years. During that time Dan also worked for 6 seasons as a climbing ranger for the National Park Service on Mount Rainier and in North Cascades National Park and as an avalanche technician for the Washington State Department of Transportation. Dan resides in Leavenworth, WA where he works as an operational forecaster and is pursuing a BSc in Civil Engineering.
