Ben is an experienced avalanche professional with nearly two decades of work across ski area, industrial, and transportation sectors. He began his career in 2006 as a ski patroller and spent 14 years contributing to avalanche safety programs in Canada, New Zealand, and France. Since transitioning to the industrial sector, Ben has supported avalanche risk management programs for mining, energy, and railway sectors, developing extensive expertise in the leadership and delivery of operational programs. In addition to his field and consulting experience, Ben has been an instructor with the Canadian Avalanche Association’s Industry Training Program since 2019 and has served on the Association’s Ethics and Standards Committee for the past five years. Based in the East Kootenay, Ben lives in Fernie, BC.
