Project: Mica Dam – Avalanche Safety Program

BC Hydro’s Mica Dam is located approximately 130 km north of Revelstoke, BC between the Monashee and Selkirk mountain ranges. Dynamic was retained to design and implement an avalanche safety program for the Mica Dam project area to ensure the mitigation of avalanche hazards to workers with minimal interruption to construction and plant operations. We monitor avalanche conditions 24/7, provide a daily avalanche hazard forecast, avalanche rescue training for emergency response teams and explosive avalanche control for hazard reduction along access roads.
